Jaap van den Hoogen, President of the MGI Executive Board, will be speaking at the 50th Anniversary Conference of the Mediterranean Institute of Maritime Transport (IMTM) on 14 June, at 2:30 pm at the Palais de la Bourse (Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry) on the topic of “The Shipping Industry in the Smart Age”.
Ever increasing digitalisation and automation means big changes for managing ships, terminals, port systems and supply chains. Panel discussions will each focus on a topic related to the maritime industry, including shipping, ports or logistics, exploring them from today’s Smart perspective.
MGI will be participating in the second panel discussion on Smart Ports, providing insight on one of the areas that it knows best – paperless procedures in Port Community Systems and especially Ci5.
The first part of the panel discussion will focus on the need to exchange information between supply chain players. The Ci5 PCS will then be presented as a tool for increasing the competitiveness of ports and helping them develop. The last part will be dedicated to specific cases of innovation in the port community.
Speakers for Panel Discussion no. 2 on Smart Ports:
Moderator: Claude Gressier, President of the Honorary Section of the French General Council for Environment and Sustainable Development (CGEDD) and Representative of the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC)
Panel of experts:
