Jaap van den Hoogen, President of the MGI Executive Board, spoke at the “Innovation: the sea, our future” session during the Economy of the Sea conference (Assises de l’économie de la Mer) in Le Havre on Tuesday 21 November at 3pm.

MGI is finalising development of the next generation of Cargo Community Systems (CCS) with Ci5 which will be launched for the first time in Marseille-Fos Port in 2018. Jaap will present some innovative features built into Ci5 which presents a technological disruption with previous generations of CCS. AT the same time, MGI is developing Channel 5, an information channel and decision-making tool based on Artificial Intelligence for port communities.

These two solutions have already received awards: Channel 5 won the Logistics Trophy at the Port of the Future conference in September, and Ci5 and the Marseille-Fos port community system, Neptune, were awarded best information systems for a Smart Port by the IAPH in May.

The Economy of the Sea conference is the annual event for the French shipping community, where professionals meet to discuss and promote their concepts and expand their networks.
