MGI announces the election of Mr. Denis Liotta as the new Chairman of its Supervisory Board, following the General Meeting of its shareholders held on 21 June 2022 in Marseille. Mr Liotta succeeds Xavier Lassalle, who has held this position for 14 years and remains on the Board as Vice-Chairman.

With his expertise in business and logistics, Mr Liotta will contribute to MGI’s growth and improving the effectiveness and competitiveness of French port supply chains.

“I am truly honoured by my appointment as Chairman of MGI’s Supervisory Board,” says Mr. Denis Liotta. “I am already a member of the Supervisory Board, and this appointment will allow me to serve one the region’s shining stars, and to take part in projects that will help the ecosystem and the port community improve its digital technologies. I would also like to thank Xavier Lassalle for his dedication and involvement in the development of MGI at the head of the Supervisory Board for the past 10 years. I am very excited about the fact that he has agreed to stay on in a support role as Vice-Chair of the Board.”

Denis Liotta is an entrepreneur who heads up the Marseille-based family-owned group Mediaco Vrac, which develops transit and port logistics, and is also a developer of sustainable logistics and industrial warehouses. As an investor, he is already highly involved in the innovation ecosystem (he has been Chair of Marseille Innovation since 2018), and invests in startups in the region.

Mr Liotta and the members of MGI’s new Supervisory Board will be at Meet-up Ci5, which will take place on 28 June at 6.30pm, at the Musée Regards de Provence in Marseille, and which will be attended by many representatives of the Marseille port community. Meet-up Ci5 is an annual event, which brings together all Marseille port community professionals along with MGI clients and users.  It therefore comes as no surprise that MGI has organised this first event in an idyllic setting, overlooking the Mediterranean.

MGI will also be alongside the Marseille-Fos Maritime and River Federation at the Euromaritime trade show, the Euro-Mediterranean trade show for maritime industries and blue growth, which will be held at Parc Chanot in Marseille from 28 to 30 June, stand B18.
