Bastien Boulnois, Innovation Project Manager at MGI, presented the Channel 5 project at the Med’Innovant competition on Tuesday 21 November in Marseille. Channel 5, an information channel and decision-making tool for port communities, has been short-listed as one of the most innovative Smart Port / Smart City solutions. It is being developed in partnership with CEA Tech for the Artificial Intelligence engine, and is the first solution of its kind to be designed for the shipping sector.

The Channel 5 project is part of the Smart Port initiative launched by the Aix-Marseille-Provence agglomeration. The solution has already received the award for best innovation in the logistics category at the Port of the Future conference in September.

Med’Innovant is a competition for innovative initiatives organised by EPAEM (Euromediterranée development agency) and LCEE (Euromediterranée entrepreneur centre) for which start-ups, SMEs, associations and large corporations based in France and abroad have submitted an innovative proposal for a Smart Port or Smart City. The award winners will be announced from 6pm at La Coque.
