Best wishes for 2019 from everyone at MGI. We ended 2018 with the first deployment of Ci5. Development only began less than three years ago, which is a real achievement for a next generation Cargo Community System that connects around fifteen different port professions. This success would not have been possible without the hard work and commitment of the Marseille-Fos port community, MGI teams and our partner Thales Services.
Marseille-Fos port was the first to make the switch. Since 16 October all import, export and transhipment goods have been managed in Ci5. We did it! Ci5 Marseille-Fos now has over three thousand users from all over France. Once again, we’d like to thank all operators for their support and willingness to work together for the benefit of the whole port. We went from development to deployment in under three years. Well done everyone!
The New Year is already looking busy for MGI. We will gradually switch over to Ci5 in other port communities using AP+. The new features offered by Ci5 are going to change day-to-day operations for future users. We will also be continuing our innovative projects on artificial intelligence and blockchain, and launch the Ci5 mobile app which will soon be available on the App Store and Google Play. Fabrine Frestel is managing this project, and will tell you more in the Focus on article.
The Talent MGI section features Julien Grandjean, a developer and integrator in the technical department. This issue also contains an interview with Justine Camoin, MGI’s International Business Developer and Vice-Chair of the IAPH Women’s Forum for the Europe Region. Justine tells us about what is being done to encourage women to take up careers in the shipping sector, and calls for more people to get involved in mentoring.
