History

MGI (Marseille Gyptis International) was created in the 1980s by the Marseille-Fos port community in order to create a Port Community System that could manage goods transiting through the port. In 1989, Gyptis implemented the “Protis” Port Community System in the Port of Marseille-Fos.

MGI is unusual in that our shareholders are also our clients, representatives of port trade associations and the Marseille-Fos Port Authority. The solutions we develop in partnership with our clients really meet their needs.

Protis’ successor, AP+, was rolled out in the Port of Marseille-Fos on 21 September 2005. It was created in collaboration with the Marseille and Le Havre port communities with the goal of becoming the French system of reference. In 2015, AP+ handled 98% of French container port traffic and was operating in around 30 logistics communities in France and abroad. AP+ was the first tri-modal Port Community System to manage goods flows in port, airport and inland logistics communities.
