MGI forme les gendarmes maritimes !

Eight maritime police officers received training on AP+ at MGI on Thursday 18 December.

These officers are part of the maritime and port safety squad for Marseille and Port de Bouc. They inspect ships entering the port and target specific container goods under the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS).

Florence Brochard, MGI Training Manager, gave a detailed presentation of some of the system’s features, including the Declaration of Physical Transport/Commercial Transport Offer, container monitoring and related e-mail notifications, and import tracking for containers in the port area.

Like Customs, the Maritime Police is a public authority that has access to AP+ for targeting and inspection purposes. AP+ makes it possible to implement safety and security regulations for goods transport.
