My name is Rania Moutawafiq. I’m from Casablanca, Morocco, and have been working for MGI for a year and a half. I went to university in France and received a Bachelor’s in Economics and then a Master’s in Business and International Management at IAE, Nice. Straight after my Master’s, I did my first internship at the Port of Casablanca in a customs-bonded warehouse, and then my second in Monaco as a freight forwarder, before finally arriving in Marseille, a major maritime port.
I discovered MGI via LinkedIn. I applied and then joined the company’s Customer Service department. I was looking for a business where I could reinforce and broaden my knowledge, as well as meet up to new challenges every day. MGI gave me this opportunity. It’s a real adventure for me; the chance to live in a new city, with real responsibilities and the possibility for professional and personal development!
MGI at the heart of the supply chain
With my colleagues from customer services, we check that Ci5 is working properly for users. We help shipping agents, terminal operators, freight forwarders, customs and Port Authority personnel to use the software simply and efficiently. If they encounter any difficulties, we resolve their problem directly or with the support of our colleagues from IT or functional services. We work closely together to give customers a quick and thorough response.
Our team now includes seven multi-skilled members of staff, serving customers six days a week. Customer service is open from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 1:30 pm to 6 pm, and on Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm.
Ready for new challenges
When I arrived, MGI was still using the AP+ system and it was difficult for me because the software used terms I didn’t understand. During the deployment of Ci5, MGI’s new Cargo Community System, we received special training. I easily got to grips with the latest technologies used in the software and I really appreciated the user-friendly vocabulary. It’s much more intuitive and transparent!
The maritime industry is exciting and I’m lucky to be part of it. I share MGI’s values, especially the priority placed on the environment. I’m motivated by the desire to always go the extra mile to satisfy our customers every day. We are a close-knit, supportive team where I am proud to have found my place.
An international future
I think that the future of MGI is international! Our innovative solutions, especially the green port, are growing quickly overseas. Ci5 has so much to give. I’m sure that MGI will play a key role in the emergence of the port of the future.
