Acclaim for presentation of new Ci5 intelligent cargo system
Nearly 600 people were at the MGI 30th anniversary event for the launch of Ci5, the new flagship software solution designed as a successor to AP+.

A broad logistics community gathered together with MGI at Palais du Pharo in Marseille on Thursday 3 December, including shipping, air and land transport clients, partners and representatives of harbour and customs authorities.
30 years of shared successes

Xavier Lassalle, President of MGI’s Supervisory Board opened the proceedings by presenting the company’s remarkable history, highlighting the institutions and people who have contributed to its success over the years.

The success story has been marked by the number 5 !

1985, establishment of MGI
2005, launch of AP+ software
2015, launch of Ci5

All new Ci5 – more than a PCS, more than a PCS

Jaap van den Hoogen, President of the MGI executive board, presented the new system Ci5 (Cargo intelligence 5). The 5 in the name stands for the five modes of transport and also the five continents. The project started in 2014 and from the outset has been entirely user-focused.

Ci5 is much more than a Port Community System or a Port Community, because today’s technologies make cargo intelligent. It can be tracked and traced anywhere in the world.

MGI vision is to connect supply chains through a high-performance information system to track freight from door to door.

Innovative principles of Ci5

These principles are the conceptual building blocks in development of this unique new solution :

User-centric : modular approach, custom displays, predictive data entry.
Activity Monitoring : operational management with door-to-door cargo tracking, alert system for event notification.
Fast Lane : simplifying logistics processes with automatically-generated operations. Ci5 will automatically manage advance actions to streamline supply chain processes.
Interoperability : the system will be interoperable with all supply chain information systems – multi-port, multi-modal, multi-channel and door-to-door.
Business Intelligence : strategic activity management approach with dashboards, KPIs and statistics

The first screenshots were premiered during the anniversary event by Alain Perez, Chief Information Officer. This overview of the first module of Ci5 was very warmly welcomed by clients, who were impressed by the revolutionary new features. But more is still to come… Ci5 is due for release in the first quarter of 2017. Watch this space!
